Coming Together, 9.12.20

Sometimes I think that turning an RV into a mobile studio and shop is completely ridiculous. Then, within the next minute, I think it's pretty cool. The anxiety about it is on overdrive for sure- back and forth all day, every day.  But if I make a point to stop thinking about it for a while, I settle into a place that feels pretty good. I spent a couple of hours organizing another little pocket of creative space yesterday and it has me feeling much more confident about our decision to keep this monster vehicle and put it to good (although unusual!) use.

We have settled on a name: Olive and Ash Mobile Atelier and Markt (Atelier- French for studio/workshop and Markt -German for Market, since I have some French ancestry and M and I both have German ancestry). The mobile version still falls under the name and concept of  Olive and Ash Art and Yoga and will offer instruction and products revolving around art, yoga and well-being.
My word for this year was "Align" and it has been incredibly helpful to me with all of the distraction and chaos of 2020, especially since I chose this weird time to start something new.  Even though "Art and Yoga" aren't typically thought of as being aligned, outside of my family, they are what makes me "me" and are what keeps me sane- as they both require a great degree of mindfulness. Sharing this with others sounds like the best way to spend my retirement and just the thought of that makes me extremely happy.
Keep checking back in for updates. My goal is to be open for the Blumenhof Kristkindl Markt in early December, at the latest, but I'm hoping for a few weeks prior to that. Simply Earth Essential Oils and my original art, prints and fiber art are already in place, but I'll be looking for more creators who are willing to work on a consignment basis and products that align with the art and yoga concept (think fine art, handmade wares and/or wellness-related products). If you or someone you know fits this description, please reach out to me.

In the meantime,

Be Still.
Be Strong.
Be Happy.

Juli
